In 2024, we had the privilege of working on a transformative project near Silver Spring, MD. Collaborating closely with the client, we designed an edible landscape that seamlessly incorporated a large central area for a playground and dog run.

As an avid gardener, the client envisioned a productive vegetable garden paired with a sophisticated rainwater irrigation system. To meet this need, we integrated our innovative olla system with a rain barrel located on the east side of the building. Additionally, we installed raised beds of various sizes, strategically positioned to the south to optimize sunlight for growing a variety of annual plants.

To address stormwater management, we connected the west-side gutter system to an underground piping network that feeds into two rain gardens. These gardens were planted with fruit trees, including persimmons and Nanking cherries, blending functionality with ecological beauty.
